Ground Yourself

"Grounding, also called earthing, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth. " Healthline

Grounding yourself may seem like a "Hippy" thing, however it has been proven to reduce the effects of pain, stress, depression, and fatigue caused by day to day life and illness.

Grounding can be a simple activity involving putting the soles of your feet on the earth and/or touching dirt/earth with the palm of your hand.

There are ways to ground yourself throughout the day without having to leave your desk. Keep a potted plant in your office space (succulents are a great plant the require very little care). As you begin to experience this stress take a moment to feel the dirt, taking some deep breaths as you do.

My understanding of why grounding is needed is: We as humans are animals, evolved to live and connect with the earth. As we continue to use technology and tools we separate from the earth, these tools can and are as simple shoes. Think of the four legs (animals), the many legs (bugs), the standing people (trees), they all thrive when they have some connection to the earth and dirt. Their energy is in constant motion and circulation, which means we are reusing the same energy. by grounding, we are allowing the Mother (earth) to help heal us and bring new energy into circulation. There is a flow of energy that is immitted from everything, and we have been collecting without returning the energy or giving something back.

We as a society have seemed to have forgotten that the earth provides to all it inhabitants so we have been taking advantage and not listening to what she tries to tell us. It's time we stop our "teenage rebellion" and rebuild our relationship with the Mother.
